About Us
BOARD MEMBER BIOS
PRESIDENT: NANCY REED, RN, CCRN, LNC, ret.
I am a second-generation San Diego native and 26-year Elfin Forest resident. I am a retired RN with extensive ICU and ER experience, plus 5 years’ Labor and delivery experience. I am one of the first Legal Nure Consultants in the nation working in both large and small law firms.
As one of the midwives for the incorporation of the City of Encinitas, I was honored to serve on Encinitas’ first Planning Commission. When my family moved to Elfin Forest in 2020, I served on the San Dieguito Planning Group for 10 years.
On moving to Elfin Forest, I was able to fulfill my lifelong dream of becoming an equestrian. I have used all my nursing and planning experience with my beloved horses – from tending to metabolic crisis to evacuation planning and execution. I am honored to serve this special, tight knit community that has always been on the forefront of fire safety, community involvement and spirit.
SECRETARY: MINDY MCLEAN
Mindy McLean is owner of Eunice Sachs & Associates, a Chicago-based court reporting agency, and Breeze Mill Farm, a boarding and lesson facility in Elfin Forest. She holds a Marketing degree from Columbia College Chicago and previously worked at a global advertising agency with clients like Miller Brewing, Navistar, and Hill’s Pet Food. She moved to Elfin Forest seven years ago with her husband Roy to live with her horses and now shares the property with three dogs, a cat, and four horses; she enjoys crafting and relaxing on her deck.
TREASURER • JOHN MCMEEKAN
I am happily retired after 43 years in financial services. During my career I worked with numerous non-profit organizations and small municipalities as well as professionals and closely held businesses. I have an extensive background in volunteering and nonprofit finance and accounting. I’ve been here in Elfin Forest for the past 8 years. I spend my time hiking our trails, practicing large animal husbandry, and playing Fender Bass in multiple local rock bands.
